Fashion lovers all over the world are gagging over a stunning shot of supermodel Anok Yai for the October 2024 cover of Vogue France. Everything about the gorgeous photo, shot by photographer Mikael Jansson, gives glamorous vibes that instantly transport us to Studio 54 in the 1970s.

Talk about attention to detail…everything from Yai’s voluminous afro styled by Eugene Souleiman, amethyst eye makeup by Karin Westerlund, bronze nails by celebrity manicurist Ama Quashie, and chunky stacked bangle bracelets from Alexis Bittar shows that celeb stylist Ib Kamara understood the assignment.
But it’s Yai’s gorgeous green gown with a sexy plunging neckline from the Gucci 2025 resort wear collection that completely stole the show.
Style lovers on social media are losing their minds over the vintage-inspired cover. The comment section is loaded with fire and heart emojis from fans who are too floored to put their feelings about Yai’s look into words.
Fans who were able to find words couldn’t help but make comparisons about the cover style to that of style icon Diana Ross, who has been serving us with lewks for decades.
“So very chic, so very 70s, so VERY Diana Ross. Great commentary-I have a new catchphrase!” wrote one person on TikTok.
Other fans of the cover noted that Sudanese model Anok Yai, who was discovered at Howard University’s homecoming, is a beauty that is out of this world.
“She’s like a beautiful extraterrestrial come down to Earth to review humans for her people in the Andromeda Galaxy,” wrote a commenter on TikTok.
But most fans of the cover wanted to take time to celebrate Black beauty on the cover of a mainstream fashion magazine.
“Black is sooo beautiful,” wrote someone on a TikTok video about the cover shot.
