And if the three individuals who were officially selected to be the flag-bearers for Team USA are any indication of our prospects for potentially taking home the gold—looking at you Snoop Dogg, LeBron James and Coco Gauff—then I’d say our chances are sky high.

“I was completely shocked, it never would’ve crossed my mind, I—yeah, I have no words honestly,” she said afterwards. In a followup tweet on X/Twitter, Coco later found the words writing online:
“I just want to say thank you to my fellow team usa olympians/athletes for voting and choosing me for this incredible honor to be the flag bearer for the opening ceremony. Thank you so much. I am incredibly honored.”
Her sentiments echo that of LeBron’s who gave his reaction on Tuesday during an interview:
“It’s special in the fact of, to get an opportunity represent your country in another fashion, to be able to understand how prestigious this moment is for someone to be able to be the flag bearer and wave the flag not only for us as the men’s national team but for all the Olympians—I hold that with the utmost honor. It’s definitely something that my family and my community and my friends—it will live on forever. I’m super appreciative and super humbled by it.”
As for Snoop, whose also contriubuting to NBC’s coverage of the games, his excitement is also palpable.
“U gots to do it,” he captioned in a post to X/Twitter sharing the news. “Will u be watching?”
