Former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida was arrested for assault after his wife Sherien Almufti accused Nida of physically attacking her.

According to Page Six, Nida has been charged with family violence battery after an alleged incident that occurred in March. Per the police report, Sherien Almufti (whose legal last name is Copes) had just returned home from a night at a bar with friends when she and Nida had “a verbal altercation about how they were cheating on each other.” Copes detailed that during the “verbal” altercation, Nida revealed a video of her kissing another man.
Allegedly, that’s when Nida “pulled her by the hair and pushed her against a refrigerator,” leading to a “scuffle” between them. Copes then ran outside to “call for help” before running back inside the home for her phone to “call the police.”
When the police arrived, Copes showed law enforcement video surveillance footage of their altercation, which reportedly, “did not show the physical altercation” between them. Nida eventually returned, providing a statement to the police that was “consistent” with Copes, but “the only thing that was different was the physical altercation,” according to the report.
Nida claimed that while trying to take the phone away from Copes, “she balled up onto the ground,” before Nida successfully grabbed the phone. He stated that Copes then ran outside to call for help, leading him to go outside and give Copes her phone back. According to the report , Copes “denied medical attention when offered” and police did not observe “any marks or bruises that showed [Copes] was in a physical altercation.”
Per Page Six, Nida was “placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and simple assault.” Nida was transported to Fulton County Jail, “from which he was released after posting a $3,000 bond.”
In a statement to InTouch, Copes stated, “It was a huge blow out between a married couple that has brought us much closer since then. We have worked through our issues and have been going to couples therapy. The end.”
Fans may remember that Nida has had trouble with the law in the past, and has been in prison twice “on conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud charges.”
