SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – ReForm Shreveport is inviting the community to attend their free workshop on “How to Create a Revitalization Project” on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The organization will share the process of how they’ve completed successful projects in places like downtown and Highland Park.

“So many people have great ideas for improving their communities but don’t know where to start. At our workshop, you can learn the tricks of the tricks of the trade and practical methods for getting things done in your neighborhood,” said President Tim Wright.

Three community leaders will also share their experience and tips.

GUEST SPEAKERS

  • Kalli Combs: Founder of Social Pal Kal and coordinator of community improvement events with Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce
  • Sarah Lowder: Owner of Lowder Baking Company, spearhead of enhancement project for Ockley Street Bridge area
  • Madison Poche: Director of Highland Center and former president of the Highland Neighborhood Association

“Kalli, Sarah, and Madison have all done the hard work of getting projects off the ground in our city. Their stories not only provide valuable insights into collaborating with the city, parish, businesses, and residents but also inspire us as an organization to do more in spreading hope and excitement through community revitalization,” said LeVette Fuller, founding member.

The workshop will take place at the Andress Artist & Entrepreneur Center at 717 Crockett Street.
