Former first lady Michelle Obama gave a glowing endorsement to Democratic presidential nominee and US Vice President Kamala Harris following her debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Taking to her official X handle, Michelle said that after the fierce clash between the two White House contenders, there was “no room for discussion” about Harris being the only candidate in the race who was ready to take over as the President of the United States.
“After tonight’s debate, there should be no doubt – no room for discussion – Kamala Harris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President.
“I am once again urging everyone to roll up their sleeves and DO SOMETHING – phone bank, knock on doors, talk to any and everyone you know and urge them to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Every vote will matter in what will be a close race. We cannot afford to have anyone sitting on the sidelines. There’s simply too much at stake,” she said.
Former US president Barack Obama also lauded Harris’ blazing performance in the debate stating that she “will be a president for all Americans”.
“Tonight, we saw firsthand who has the vision and strength to move this country forward instead of dividing us. Kamala Harris will be a president for all Americans. Let’s get to work,” he said in a post on his official X account.
Here’s a look at how the popular names from both the rival parties reacted to the most awaited battle of 2024.
Tim Walz
Harris’ running mate Tim Walz said that he was extremely proud of how Harris took the stage and showed the Americans her “vision” in the debate.
“Kamala Harris is tough. She’s experienced. And she’s ready,” Walz said.
“Could not be prouder to be on this ticket with her.”
Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton laid stress on how defeating Trump was the need of the hour, who was also Clinton’s rival in the 2016 presidential elections.
“Here’s what I know. We need to defeat Donald Trump. We need to elect Kamala Harris. If you’ve been waiting to join this fight, the time is now,” she said in a post.

JD Vance
Trump’s running mate JD Vance launched a scathing attack against Harris saying that her “incompetence will lead us into World War 3”.
“President Trump is right: what’s in our best interest is for the killing to stop. Kamala Harris’s incompetence will lead us into World War 3,” he said.
