Florida Blue, the state’s Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan, has named health care veteran Tanya Hill Easterling as its next market president for Central Florida. Tanya’s promotion to the role follows the upcoming transition of Tony Jenkins to Market President of Northeast Florida, where he’ll be based in Jacksonville, Fla.

Tanya brings nearly 20 years of health care experience to the position, most recently serving as the Market Leader for Volusia, Flagler, and Brevard counties. Since joining Florida Blue in 2006, she has been instrumental in creating, leading, and executing hyper-local strategies to meet the needs of individuals, businesses, and communities across Central Florida.

Throughout her more than 25-year career, she has previously worked with Chick-fil-A, Target Corporation, the National Conference for Community and Justice, and Walt Disney World to drive key business results through strategic partnerships.

“With her strong relationships across Central Florida and deep understanding of the health care industry, Tanya is well-positioned to deepen impact in our communities,” said Kari Regar, senior vice president, Florida Market Leader at Florida Blue. “Over the past two decades, she has consistently driven key programs and partnerships for Florida Blue, leveraging her expertise and passion for our mission — and to help improve health outcomes and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.”

As Florida Blue’s Market President for Central Florida, Tanya will be responsible for regional business and community engagement in a 9-county region that includes Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia counties.  She will work with area customers, drive regional membership growth and retention, enhance the brand, and lead civic and community stakeholder engagement.

“I am excited to lead our passionate and committed team, building on the strong leadership and legacy of my predecessor Tony Jenkins, and the deep local relationships and partnerships we’ve established to advance the well-being of our community,” said Tanya.

Tanya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising/Public Relations from the University of Central Florida (UCF). She is passionate about investing time and talent into the community and has been involved with numerous community and civic organizations. Tanya currently serves on the Board of Directors for the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Central Florida Foundation, 4Roots Foundation, and the Winter Park Health Foundation. Additionally, she is also a member of the Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class 43.
