HARRISBURG, Pa. — The African American Chamber of Commerce of Pennsylvania kicked off its “State of the Chamber” tour July 23 at the Pa. State Capitol.
The four-city tour is aimed at providing a series of conversations on the current business climate and the future of Black-owned businesses.
It also seeks to explore growth opportunities and economic forces that shape the future of Black-owned businesses.
Regina Hairston, the Chamber’s President and CEO, was joined by business leaders and lawmakers during the kickoff. Pennsylvania Speaker of the House Joanna McClinton was a featured speaker at Wednesday’s event.
“There are some wonderful businesses that are doing well, but there are also businesses that are struggling,” Hairston said. “We want to make sure that they have access to affordable capital, that we have policies that are coming out of this capital that supports our businesses and ensuring that they are growing and scaling.”
The Chamber also represents Delaware and New Jersey.
The tour has three scheduled stops in the coming weeks in Wilmington, Camden and Philadelphia.
